The Pets of Cecil & Lenore

Nashi

Tagline: The talker. The stroller king. The original heartbeat.

Nashi has been with me the longest and came from a local rescue. He’s full of personality and truly believes he has something important to say at all times — he talks constantly and has opinions about everything. He loves his walks (both on a harness and in his stroller), trips to the dog park, and playing with Cecil. He’s the one who taught me what it means to build a home around pets.

Margot

Tagline: The complicated queen. Sweet until she’s not. Furniture’s greatest critic.

Margot arrived next — another rescue — and she is, in every way, a complicated woman. She was declawed by a previous owner, and her spirit reflects both sweetness and survival. When she’s in a loving mood, she purrs, melts into you, and becomes angelic. When she’s not, she expresses her feelings in very direct ways, often targeting the furniture. She brings humor, honesty, and a reminder that all animals deserve to be understood.

Cecil

Tagline: The golden boy. Office greeter. Toy enthusiast.

Cecil came from a local rescue and is happy, perfect, sweet, and the easiest creature to love. He comes to work with me and charms everyone he meets. When I’m not around, he happily attaches himself to whoever feeds him — but deep down, he’s all mine. He’s super playful, loves the dog park, his brother, and has an enduring commitment to cat toys of all kinds. He’s a daily example of the joy pets bring.

Lenore

Tagline: The inspiration. The brave little spirit. The heart behind the name.

Lenore is no longer with us, but she remains at the heart of this foundation.

She came to my attention through a situation where it was clear she had not received the care and protection she deserved. A local rescue stepped in and did everything possible to help her. Despite extensive medical treatment and tremendous compassion, Lenore did not survive.

Her story — and her loss — is what sparked the creation of Cecil & Lenore. She represents the many animals who are noticed too late, and the profound impact that neglect, instability, and separation can have on a vulnerable life.

Lenore’s life mattered. This foundation exists in her name to honor animals like her and to support earlier intervention, compassion, and care for pets and the people who love them.

Bear (Forever in Our Hearts)

Tagline: The soul dog. The one who started it all.

Bear passed away last year, but he was with me for many years and remains my soulmate dog. A rescue who was overlooked again and again, he became my best friend and the center of my world. He touched everyone around him with his gentleness, loyalty, and presence. His memory continues to guide this work, and the heart of Cecil & Lenore will always belong to him.
